Installing Backup Camera question...

Hey guys,
I'm still fairly new to the forums. I tend to lurk around here when work is slow (like today). Anyway the question I have is if there are any write up's on how to go about installing a camera. I have searched and still ended up with nothing besides recommendations on a back up camera.

Also, I am planning to purchase the TVandNav2go from Dominic and was wondering if anyone had a diagram on how to remove the dash so that I can get behind the LCD screen without breaking all the tabs.

Thanks in advance. Looking forward to learning a lot from you guys.

BTW, it is for a 2007 G35x Sedan.

hey, it's pretty easy to install the backup camera.
i just installed mine this past weekend.

as far as the diagram, if you go to http://g35nyc.com/forums/
and search for service manuals.
you can get the diagrams from there.

But you don't really need to take the radio out.
you just need to get the video cable to the arm rest, and you can tap the power and ground from the trunk (i taped into the backup light in the trunk)

Thanks a lot bro, I actually found the service manual here not to long ago and your right it was pretty easy to do. I also taped into the backup light in the trunk as well.

I'll try to do a write up on how to do it, since I worked on my buddy car today I'll do a write up when I work on my car.

^ that's pretty sweet.

Next question. Is there a way I can have it pause for a few seconds before the backup camera comes on? Cause of now from P to D it flickers when I go past R. I know if u had the factory camera it doesn't come on right away.

well there's different ways to get this done.

1. find a different power source. usually rear view cameras are tapped into the reverse power. so anytime you throw the car in "r" the camera will trigger off. that's why there's a little 1-2second delay on the camera.

I have a problem now. My monitor only comes on if my headlights are on. I have the power wire connected to the back taillight and the reverse wire connected to the reverse wire in the car.

I am thinking of splicing it to the factory monitor harness for the power since it is constantly on. Would anyone know which color wire is power?
