Hey does anyone know if the BOSE system has an extra input? My friend was just researching his 3.2TLS and discovered that the radio has another input so if he hits the 'CD' mode button twice it will toggle between in-dash CD player and an external one (much like FM toggles between FM1 and FM2). In anycase, thatd be a nice way to add a 3rd party MP3 compatible disk player and not have to deal w/ any of those FM modulator devices...

Since youve taken the radio apart, did you notice an extra hookup?

that kinds sucks with the AC/Radio being on the same circuit board. OH well, I figure Nissan had to find same ways to cut costs.

And so for the Bose system, I've never heard a Bose system I liked. Overrated Pieces of crap in my opinion. They spend billions in advertising, and about 1% in engineering.

As most of us audio enthusiasts know, putting in an Alpine deck with Focal speakers/MB quart and IDMAX or JL subs will totally blow away most premium stock systems out there. (and no guys, it's not your stereotypical hip hop bass blasting system)

Too bad it gonna really take some work to change that out eek!!!

There are several reasons. For one, features. I, personally, play MP3 cd's in my car. I know of other people who play DVD's etc... secondly, a stock unit never has a decent amp stage to it or a decent equalizer. This may not be a problem if you like the sound of stock speakers but those are usually crap as well in pretty much every car. Again, this is an issue of what kind of a listener you are. If you listen to talk radio all day, then it really doesnt matter what kind of sound you get (same goes for FM radio). However, if you are someone who likes to enjoy their music, it becomes almost a necessesity to change stock radios and speakers. The final stage is always your ears, so if everything sounds good to you, then lucky you.. for me (and thousands of others), our ears tell us a different story and we must spend the moola
It is a bummer that the G has this weird radio layout.. As soon as i get my coupe, i am ripping it apart to see if I can make a custom enclosure.. fiberglass perhaps.
