8's or 10's?

I am in the process of trying to put a sound system into my G coupe and I am not sure if I want to run thee 8" polk audio MM840's or 2 10" subs (possibly JL 10w6 but due to $$$ not sure).

Can anyone provide any insight or testimony to this proposed set up? And please don't hesitate to tell me I've picked out garbage equipment - thats why I've come here lol!

Thanks in advance,
Junya

what are you trying to achive?

Over all good sound quality or just loud?

or both?

I personally would 2 the 2 10" idea.

I like the idea of 8's and ive heard 8's properly set up but I dont think the Polks will give the amount of output you're looking for

Not a fan of 8s, they seem to sound too punchy to me. Id go with two 10's or one nice 12.

Appreciate the input everyone!

I'm looking for loudness and quality (as is everyone else) :-P
I think I'll go with two Rockford Fosgate 10's and 1000.1 kicker amp.

Any thoughts?

If you are gonna get the 1000.1 amp you should just get one really good 12. Trust me it will be enough.

Hope he ships soon!

I would do 2 8's or a single 10. I'm running a single jl 10w3 and it slams way loud enough for me. plus there is no way i would want to give up the trunk space needed for 2 10's... 1 takes up enough space as is
