Re: Navigation 3d view?

Navi has 'plain view' and 'bird view'. Accessed thru Settings, to Navigation, to View. Enjoy.......

Yeah, first order of business is to ditch the short menus.. you can't do much with those.

Re: Navigation 3d view?

I found the site of the company that makes our navi system.
http://www.xanavi.co.jp/index.html

If you look on the top right you'll see "ENGLISH" but english doesn't have as many sections as the japanese version of the page. In the Japanese version of the page it shows upgrades for the navi system even 3d. I guess here in US we're so behind that a 3d map hasn't been created for us yet.

I really wanted to contact someone from that company to ask how to make the system play movies. I heard the japanese navigation system in the V35 plays movies. Unfortunately there's no contacts in the English version of the page, but I was too lazy to have the Japanese version interpreted. Let me know if anyone finds out info or email addresses.

According to the Navigation manual, Zenrin is the company that makes ours.

Re: Navigation 3d view?

maybe zenrin just makes the disks for our navigation? On the japanese version Xanavi site it even says it's to be used in the Nissan V35.

Re: Navigation 3d view?

Talked to a guy today about playing DVD's on the nav screen and he said ther is a company that makes an adaptor plug which is basically like an AV switch that allows you to have 2 AV inputs for whatever you want. Dont know where to get it but he showed me the finished product on a BMW 540 and it was sweet. asked him if the owrk was garunteed and he said yes through him which is all i need if im gonna have someone rip apart a 2000 dollar system. Simple insurance policy. Im on the east coast though so dont know how much this helps you but ask around at custom car shops and maybe you'll find what your looking for.

Re: Navigation 3d view?

thanks Gforce. I know a seperate unit can be put in to play movies, but if all possible I don't want anything extra.

I'm trying to be patient on a chip or wiring bypass put out for our stock nav to play movies. In the mean time I just find low ebay auctions on car Dvd players. If I win a cheap dvd player I'll just install that for the mean time.
