Speaker / Tweeter placement

Where have you guys put your speakers and tweeters in particular. Stock location or in the kick panels. Also, has anyone made mounts that alter the angle the speakers sit in the door so they don't face away from you?? I feel my system should sound better than it currently does and wondering if the positioning is the cause. I currently am running Focal K2Ps in the stock locations with a Pioneer Avic Z110bt and a JL 300/2.

different people like different things

optimal positioning would be mid and tweet close together.

If you are going to be daily driving i suggest adding about 5-7ft of wire to your existing tweeter and play with positioning.

Try factory, close to the mid, in the kick panel, etc

I like mine in the factory

Thanks, any other opinions/advice. I would like to add that I currently have just replaced the front speakers and have not replaced the back. Have people had good luck / bad luck with this approach??

I am overhauling my system this weekend, one thing I am doing is putting my new tweeters in custom pods in the a-pillar, firing off axis. The midbass will stay in the stock location (door), with the door and door panel heavily dampened. Even in the stock locations, my current component system in front sounds pretty good (DLS UP6), but this new setup should sound even better. Have you had someone tune your system? That can make the biggest difference. If you are going for an SQ system, you will want to run a sub for the rear (no need for rear speakers)
