Problems with the driver's side sound

Ok, my bose system is acting hella funky. A while ago it seemed like my left side didn't have sound. So I would try to change the settings all to the left to see if I was trippen' or not but I wasn't even though the setting is all to the left it a very quiet distorted sound. But after a while it comes back on. Now it NEVER comes back on, so I thought my speakers were blown, but now the funky thing about it is this only happens when I am listening to CD's, but when I switch it over to the radio the sound comes back on! So I am assuming something is wrong with the headunit or something? Thanks in advance.

Yup... Have EXACTLY same problem and it's the HU. Since my car isn't under warranty anymore I just ordered all parts for aftermarket system (JDM Kit, Pioneer AVH6000DVD + steering wheel, iPod, Sirius, bypass modules) and will install it next week.
