05 Sedan... 10's, 12's, or 15'?
Hey guys whatsup... its heading towards christmas and all of my friends and kids around here have subs or systems in their car. I was looking in to what would be good and whether I would need amps or tweeters or what and im looking in the 1000-1100 range? Whats plenty of bass and whats to much? Thanks
entirely up to you
there is a huge post about after market set up in the audio/video section
whats to much bass? that depends on what you like. A really nice SQ set up takes time and $$$$$.
Overall just loud and some SQ is pretty easy. Get any decent 12's and a ported box.
you always need amps for any kinda set up
you can run speakers off a head unit but your kinda wasting your money if you have invested money in a decent set of speakers

I started out with a 12" Alpine Type X sub and was not impressed at all...
..I switched it out for a 15" T1 Rockford Fosgate and couldn't be happier. That sub is one bad ****. It gets lowwww and is very powerful plus it has great SQ to boot.
It all depends on what you want. I thought I wanted just enough bass that was tight and precise until I listened first hand and changed my mind within a few days. IMO it is better to have more than you need and be able to adjust your EQs to get EXACTLY what you want rather than having too little and trying to push out more than it can handle.
