New G35 & G37 Brake System
New G35 & G37 Brake System
hi...
I was just wondering if the stock brake system of New G37 Coupe would fit into New G35 sedan... If it is possible, it would be cool to have 4 Piston in the front and 2 Piston in the rear...
If there's anybody who knows about this for sure...please let me know...
Have a great day~~~~~~~~~

Not sure if the sport sedan wheel's backspacing will work - but for sure, you'll also have to pick up a G37S spare tire ... the G35S sedan spare will not fit over the G37S rotor diameter.
But, Is it worth it? Aggessive pads and steel lines will most likely outperform the swap, and not add unsprung weight. With the huge brakes and wheels, no wonder the g37 is heavier than the g35.
Another issue brought up by someone in the G37 forum is the fact that the 18" G37 rims were uncomfortably close to the front 14" calipers (they pulled an 18" G37 rim and put it onto the front of a G37S to see if it would clear the caliper). They said it didn't actually touch, but they were concerned it was too close.
The G35 sedan's 18" rim may or may not have more clearance than the G37 coupe's 18" rim so that is another issue to consider when making the switch over to G37S brakes.

The G37S wheel specs are:
Front: 19 X 8-1/2 Aluminum/43 mm
Rear: 19 X 9 Aluminum/45 mm
The G35S wheel specs are:
Front: 18 X 7-1/2 Aluminum/45 mm
Rear: 18 X 8-1/2 Aluminum/50 mm
The G35S 18" wheels WILL clear the 14" rotor diameter, but NOT clear Stop Tech ST-40 4 pot calipers. A spacer would be needed to get the needed backspacing if one wanted to use the stock G35S wheels (caliper will hit wheel spokes). I'm sure the same would hold true if the G37S brakes were installed onto a G35S.
Has anybody worked up a cost on the G37S brake hardware?
