My car is being sponsored by SOUND ADVICE in Mission Viejo. How that came to be was I went down to his open invitation and I thought we were going to have a Team Transport meeting. I started talking to Rudy and he directed me to John who really listened and was very knowledgeable of what I wanted.
It started out with just the stereo install. I went down the next Saturday and Rudy Josh and John and myself all put our heads together and we came up with I needed a custom trunk.
Well I left there with an Idea wasn't going to have a spare. But that was it Sound Advice (John) had full reign over what was going to be done. I had no idea.
Well during the week I visited Sound Advice to check it out. John and I had been on the phone and he was describing it to me. I had to see. I was very excited.
Here is what the deal entailed:
Pioneer AVIC-N1 Head Unit
JL Audio Front speakers XR 650 csi
JL Audio Rear Speakers TR 650 cxi
Removed Bose 6x9's and opened up rear deck holes for custom sealed box housing (2) JL Audio 8" W3's
JL Audio 500/5 amp
Custom Trunk and all Memphis wiring (that John gave up personally from his own stash. Thanks John! & Shawn!!!!!
If you have any questions or want some kind of setup, call up Rudy (or PM: remami) him at or speak with Josh at Sound Advice: 949-364-6464. Tell them that I sent ya and you'll probably get a nice deal!
Great install.... Thanks guys....... If you want to check it out in person, come to the import shows. I'll be there and all the crew TEAM TRANSPORT REPRESENT!!!!!

Re: What Sound Advice did for me.
The stock units guts are still behind the blank area for now until the AC controller arives, then the stock unit can be removed and the space can be used for the guages Tery wants for his other toys.
Thanks for posting the pix Tery, your car looks great. Way to represent Team Transport!

Re: What Sound Advice did for me.
I was just wondering, was the repacking done properly, do you hear any sounds of anything form the dash, that is something that really bothers me and would stop me from going into this kind of a deal. If the packaging was done just like its from the factory wow then its a good job.
Another thing the colored dash doesnt really match the color of the oem and it looks kind of cheap? Couldnt you have put the pioneer in place of the bose system? and then put your gauges in the top space? just wondering?
But nice setup...

Re: What Sound Advice did for me.
Jason a buddy of Tery who works for Infiniti took apart and put the dash back together. So it went back to its original condition, unless Tery has heard any noises I don't know about. But Jason did a very good job.
The dash was to be CF'd by others, we only molded the dash for the AVIC. The CF did not turn out as planned so Tery brought the car back to us to have the piece repaired and painted to be ready for the weekends show. The intent of the paint scheme was to match the color of the car not the original dash piece.
Installing the AVIC in the place of the stock unit wound have caused a few problems. The flip out monitor would hit the shifter when in park and the line of sight for video and navigation would not have been as good as its current location.

Re: What Sound Advice did for me.
Just to confirm what Rudy was saying. The people at Sound Advice were very concerned about that also. They knew I wasn't going to be happy with any rattles at all. I sincerely can say I have heard no noise comming from the dash or console. They practically had my car all apart too. Jason, did put it back together. But they had to take it back apart to get me ready for the show.

My custom made & painted console to the color of my car. Look closely you will see John molded the trim ring in to the dash so the HU does not stick out.

Re: First Pic
OK... wow im sure you guys worked really hard on this. Good job.
I do have a few issues i'd like to point out though, constructive criticism!
The avic-N1 is way too high and far away in your install, it is a touch-screen monitor and needs to be within reach of the driver at all times, so the lower position is much better. Having the double-din dash kit is the BEST practical way to go for ANY touch-screen...and it clears the shifter just fine...

Now installing it even lower where the ash tray is, that is too low and probably wont clear the shifter. Plus if the screen is too high, cops can see it and will pull you over. You want it to be in arm's view, not in eye's view, since your eyes are supposed to be on the road.
Your installation labor and finished product is top-notch no-noubt, the molding looks perfect! Very nice job.
Was hoping you'd paint the N1 also....i wish it came in silver from the factory...

Re: First Pic
Thanks, Rambo. Yeah, I wish we had the silver option.
I think the nav angle is good to be high like that for keeping your eye from wandering too far off from the road when using it. Just like it is in the factory version. I think both locations would work well.
