I remember looking into the various subwoofer designs and seeing a guy who designed his own subwoofer and mentioned the free software that he used. I have the dimensions of the box that I want to design, but want to lay it out in this software...

If anyone remembers what the thread was OR has a suggestion for good design software...please let me know.

Answered my own question...it was "Sketchup".

 

You probably want to pick up a program called WinISD Pro Alpha. It will help you decide how big you want your box, and help out a bunch if you want to go ported.
