Audio System Help
I have searched, but am bad at it so any useful info would be great. I have the muddy sound of the Bose system, but I don't want to lose the steering wheel controls. Has anyone just changed the speakers and seen a good result. I don't want to change the head unit, but don't want to waste money on speakers if it is the head unit that is the issue. Any ideas or things people have done are greatly appreciated.
Thanks

you really are quite bad at searching if nothing came up on your radar...just read a couple of pages of titles, this has been discussed extensively...but i digress
just changing the speakers will yield a "so-so" result...in my eyes not worth doing. The culprit of the bose system is the amp, so get a better one, tap into the bose (pre-amp) using an amp that accepts balanced differential inputs, and then buy one nice set of front speakers and forget about the rears. add a sub if you wish, or leave it alone... but the HU has a clean signal that is untouched with processing until it gets to the bose amp.
IMHO, doing a deck swap is pretty pointless, considering the cost of the DDIN finisher, a decent head unit, steering wheel control integration...then you probably change out the amp and speakers anyway... so why not keep the HU and see how that works, and then if you want, change it later if it's needed.
search with the words in RED...you will see what you missed in the search
