Kenwood DNX5140

Hey guys, I have a Kenwood DNX5140 deck and want to integrate it with the bose system in my 2004 G coupe. I know many of you would say to replace all the speakers and both amps but, finances are tight (we are still in a recession right?). I am wondering what harness I need to get as I am finding contradicting information all over the place. The deck's preamp outputs are 2 volt and I read somewhere that you need at least 4 volts to use the Metra 71-7551. Crutchfield tech support says to use the 7551 anyways, I don't believe them. So, do I use the 7550, 7551, or go with the Scosche factory integration adapter, and why? Thanks!

Use the 7551. The Bose HU outputs about 1 volt, so your 2 volt output will be fine. Also, there is only one Bose amp, not two.

I read a post about a Pioneer AVIC deck that puts out 2.2 volts did not work with the 7551 harness. Wouldn't this mean that a 2 volt output would not work either? Confusion has set in...

An option is to use the deck's internal amplifier. If the specs are correct you would have about the same as the stock amp power out. I would consider going with a speaker upgrade at this point (if you can afford it) and wait on the amp later (if you can't afford it now).

I would consider the decks internal amp but im worried about the output specs, ohms and stuff. I'm dumping $1k into a stereo since my factory one just crapped out and don't want to buy speakers and amps just yet. Blowing the factory bose speakers would suck.
