The only reason i want a setup like is because i hate looking down when im messing around with the radio. I dont think its that safe earthier.

Also i have the factory navigation and i hate how all the buttons are all cluttered together (navigaation, climate control and radio). Plus the 05 temperature **** looks cool and easier to use.!

And due to Infiniti's awesome stock disc changer that always cuts in and out every time i hit a bump, its about time i upgrade to a double din.

So in this setup.
- Using the current stock bezel. Filling in all the holes (Bondo?). And cutting new ones for the Doubledin and AC control. Then repainted to match the stock interior.
- Switching over to the 05+ JDM AC controls. Its way easier to cut out too
- Custom/modified bracket to mount the double din in the new position.

My only question is: does the 04 and 05 have the same harness for the ac controls??
Answer They do have the same harness. Thanks to KPierson for providing me the electrical diagrams.

Let me know what you guys think.
This is only a photoshop.

Im starting this project around jan-feb. And i will provide a DIY along with a Full size PDF template.

pushbutton start on an '04?

Looks really good, I like the radio controls higher up like that. What are you going to do for the OEM navi controls?

You could download the FSMs from www.nicoclub.com/FSM and compare the harnesses.

Whoa. Nice job!

Can you still leave in the OEM NAVI w/ controls?
I don't think it would look too cluttered since the temp/air controls are below.

I stole this picture from someone on this forum. Its prolly the KPtech addon's for the push start.

And also the navigation controls will be in their stock place. There's no need to modify that.

This project will probably start in the winter time (jan and feb). Thats if i dont start the headlight retrofitting first.

KPierson,

Thanks for the link. 2004 - 2007 uses the same connector for the AC Controller.

M38 connector. Found around page 45 of the ATC.pdf file.

If you get a headunit with navigation, there really isn't any reason to keep the stock nav as a nav unit.

Now throw a 7" display in stock nav location, and a headunit that can display nav in 2nd display and audio on primary, and you're golden.

I do like the stock navigation. It tells me my gas millage, when my door is open, eBrake is on, when an oil change is due and just looks mad stock and simple. So im guessing its staying.

I did also run into this. But i think its just wayy to expensive.
