2003 g35 headunit advice

Hi all, I have a 2003 g35 sedan with the factory navigation and bose sound system. My factory headunit is giving me an error f3 for my cd changer so I'm deciding to just replace the whole thing with an aftermarket one. I wanted to ask what is a good replacement headunit to get...I don't need the option of navigation since I have the factory navi already. I also wanted to know all the conversion kits that I would have to get so everything can function. Also, I have a jl audio 12w7 sub that I want to install with a jl audio 1000/1 amp for it, I wanted to know would the factory bose speakers be good enough to keep with that, if not what type of speakers would you recommend to get and would I need an amp for those speakers as well? Or if there is already a bose amp on the factory speakers would that be good enough? And if anyone knows a good shop that will be able to install everything in the Washington D.C. area, appreciate the help and all feedback is welcome.

Thanks

I think when you are deciding on a DD replacement unit and you do NOT want the navigation option, you really need to decide what else is important...

Do you want Bluetooth?
Do you want Sat (XM Sirius)?

As far as the speakers/amp question, I will leave that to the audiofiles as I am keeping my stock setup other than the head unit.

Lastly, the alternate parts you would need to complete the change:

The dash finisher and ac controls are a given, but the rest of it really depends on what you decide to do with stock speakers and amp...

Run a search on this thread and there is a ton of information regarding what else you may need. Below is the link to the Metra site where you can get an idea of what may be needed to get started...Also, Crutchfield is a great site with good advice!!

Make sure you run the search before you ask certain questions though or you will get hammered as a noob!

If you don't want BT or Nav or Sat, then I agree with mister meister...that or the Pioneer AVH-4100...I like the Ipod interface on the Pioneers a little better than the KW!

+1 on Pioneer iPod interface.

But going without bluetooth, especially with so many states enacting laws against cell phone use while driving, is a Bad Idea. Integrating with the stereo has many advantages over an earpiece - muting/pausing audio, no need for a battery, you can't lose it, and you get that nice big screen to tell you who's calling.
