Bose Nightmare

Hey Guys,

I have a 04 G Coupe with the whole bose setup.

My issue is i am now going on my 3rd Bose Amp. I haven't changed anything
to the sound system it's all stock but the damn Amp keeps blowing up on me.

The latest episode is when i turned the car on i would get the nice screeching loud alarm sound like when the low tire presure comes on or the back deck would just throw loud low bass.

Turn car off and turn back on system is ok. Last night i turn the car off and when i got up this morning to do some running around no sound at all. Same as previous issue when amp died got a new one plugged it in and bang sound again..

What could be causing this issue Neither Infiniti or Bose want to help me

It's caused by the fact that Bose Sucks.

I hope you haven't had to pay out-of-pocket for those replacement amps. It's definitely time to replace the Bose with anything, because two bottle caps and a rubber band would be an upgrade.

Anyway, the output from the Bose headunit is line-out, so if you follow the wiring from the sticky in this forum, you can put a decent amp in its place. Now's a good time to replace the speakers, and the head unit, you'll eliminate another bad Bose piece that could be causing the failure of other components.

Well i've had to purchase 2 used amps which really hasn't put me out of pocket that much.

i already have the Metra dash kit but didn't like the flimsy look of the A/C control unit and i was told to get the jdm one.

But if i had to replace the bose amp what should i replace it with a 4 chan amp a 6 chan what would be ideal wattage to go with?

And as far as speakers go i was told infinity kaps are a good choice?

The stock bose amp puts out pretty much the same output as the factory headunit puts out. I can't recall what the claimed wattage is, but whatever they say, it's peak, and disgustingly optimistic on their part. I'd say maybe 15 watts RMS on the speakers and 40w RMS to the 8" sub.

The Bose is a 5 channel amp, and depending on your future plans, 5 or 6 channel depending on if you're doing a single sub or two.

I had Infinity Kappas in my last car and they sounded fantastic.

Personally, I'd take the visual hit on the Metra kit if it meant not being assaulted by the Bose in my ears. You can always sell the Metra once you get the JDM.

I feel your pain man...I say just go to a DD setup just using the amp in the HU. Kinda sux splicng wires and everything to eliminate where the bose amp used to be but I took the time too do it and am extremely happy with my new HU and it sounds way better than the Bose ever did using the same speakers.

BTW check out this post, which is what I went through...If you need any help hit me up. Good luck!
