Re: nav with pioneer flip out, amps, two 10's,cam PIC
Very nice setup. I am researching a very similar installation.
I assume you cannot open or close the pioneer screen unless your shifter is set in D.
Do you have any side shots of your console? I would like to see how far the pioneer headunit protrudes from the surface of the console.
Also, why did you not choose to have the pioneer headunit mounted 1/2 an inch up, where the lower console begins? You could have taken advantage of the natural break in the G35 console that way. Because of your placement choice, I see you had to make a silver trim piece to fill in the gap at the top of the pioneer headunit . I assume you had your reasons for this, and would be greateful if you shared them.
Also, where and how difficult was it to move the hazard button?
Great install.
Thanks!

well, the place down in miami cartronics thought that was the best place. I think that is highest it goes as far as i know, if you get higher then the upper part comes in the way leaving a gap in the middle in which i didnt think would look nice. the divider was actually the plate from the dvd player itelf which was just fiberglassed on to the center console, then of course painted. i felt like that would be the best way to make it look clean. ill put side pictures up very soon. and you def dont loose sound when using the pac through sat.

i forgot the hazard was really easy actually. what they did is make like a fiberglass backing which mounted the hazard button on the side panel through the power source on the driver side.
i will also put a picture of the switch for the nav to be used while driving. what i did is ordered the black seat warmer switch and just painted it all black had a punch out on the center console and wa-llah
the box dimensions can vary i mean my concern was space so i just did the box enough to fit that little space from left to right up and down. i can measure the exact dimensions for you and will post them shortly.

That probably would have left 1/2 inch of the ashtray below it. I saw another pic of a similar install and there was just a tiny bit of the ashtray remaining.

also when u do it like the way i did, any 1 din would fit right in without any problems. after u take out the vent duct which u dont need, there are two screws there that a i din pocket screws right into. so worked out well. here are pict of the nav switch

nope did not cut anything off. the vent duct was taken out. only piece i got custom was the dvd plate fiberglassed onto the center console. thats it. it actually fits perect there. any one din size trust me, i did half of it myself. except for the fiberglass part obviously.
