Head Unit Problem, Please Help

The cd player in my 04 coupe skips a hole lot now. Regardless if the cd is scratched or not. Any suggestions? That is the only problem with the unit. It will happn some days and others it won't. Do you think I could use a cleaner that cleans the eye that reads the cd to clean it? Thanks in advanced!!

Punching it in the side has been known to remedy some problems with the factory head unit, but the only real fix is to upgrade to aftermarket.
