HELP! with choosing Sub/Amp!!!

Ok i know the stories...JL Audio is awesome and stuff but it is kinda pricey for my budget - BUT i def want to add some bass to my system (i have a coupe with bose) anyway...what is a good 10" sub and amp combination that is going to give me a NICE bass BUT not trunk rattling bass - please help me - keep in mind my budget is low (unfortunately) but im studying for LSATs working less hours and starting senior yr of college this semester so money isnt really there right now but i want to do this soon!
any help will really help...thanks!!

Phoenix gold(PG) class D mono amp, kicker solo-baric sub is probably loudest and uses the least amount of box space and optoinal PG LPL if you want to control sub bass from inside the car. These are not cheap, but on ebay they are. You won't be dissappointed, trust me my friend is an installer and my other friends sell the stuff.

thanks for the response - is that the ONLY amp i can get that will give me a controller that i can use inside my car to control the bass? or can i get a controller for ANY amp?

As far as I know(may want to call stereo shop and ask) you can only do this with Phoenix Gold. PG makes the LPL(low pass level) and also makes a bass cube which I think does the same thing, but can add an extra 15db. With PG and Kicker setup you really don't need the bass cube. I like the LPL because its just a discrete little **** not something that has to be integrated into the dash. You can find both on this PG website.

very cool - i gotta find out cuz a friend of mine has a control in his cabin and i just cant remember wat kind of amp he has...POSSIBLY a rockford fosgate...gotta look into that
