RCA preouts question...

im debating on buying the pioneer avh-p3100dvd or the p4100dvd. im doing a comparison and wondering if need the 4100 with 3 preouts or can i get away the 3100 and 2 preouts. since i dont know anything about car stereos i figure this would be the best place to ask about my g. i see that most people use the 4100 or one the avic systems in their cars. i just dont want to buy the wrong one. i have a 2005 coupe with a bose system.

2 vs 3 outputs are usually set up this way

2 preout - front output and sub output

3 preout - front, rear, and sub

if you plan on running an amp on your front and rear and possibly a sub then yes 3 preouts

I think you need to look at the system as a whole, not just the HU. How many amps are your running, how many speakers, do you want independent fade control front/rear, fade control for the sub, etc...
