Complete audio makeover

I installed this setup on my g during thanksgiving week and finally decided to post some pics of my install. Heres how it all happened. Back in april my bose cd player gave me the error code so it wouldnt play any CDs only tape and the radio. So i was using my ipod with the tape player combination and that was fine with me for a couple of months. One day i was sitting around bored and figured hey why not just change my whole audio system setup. So after doing some research of how to remove the dash kit and whatnot i figured this was going to be a simple job. Now i have an 03 g35 coupe with the bose system and navi unit inside. i figured i would just get a hu with nav and just remove my stock nav because i think it sucks. Here is a list of all the things ive installed in my car.

METRA dash kit with dual climate control
Alpine W505 double din
Alpine NVE-P1 Navi and bluetooth addon
Alpine PXA-H100 Imprint Audio Processor with KTX-h100 Sound manager
Alpine PDX-4.150
Alpine PDX-2.150
Alpine PDX-1.1000
Alpine 2x12" TYPE R Subwoofer
HERTZ ECX690 6x9 Coaxial
HERTZ ECS165 6.5 Coaxial
HERTZ MLK165 6.5 Components
4 ZENCLOSURE speaker spacers for the 6.5 speakers
Knuconceptz 12 gauge wiring to rewire the whole system
Pac audio SWI-JACK and PAC-TR7 Video bypass
JL Audio RCA wires (x3)
eDead V3 paint on sound deadener
eDead 120 mat over the eDead v3 (100sft) overordered
Home Depot Attic insulation for the rear inner wheel wells 2 rolls

First off let me tell u that my metra double din kit fits perfectly and it matches my color of the original dash. i believe that consists my whole installation parts other than the wire harness and radio antenna. Let me tell you that sound deadening the whole car is very exhausting and takes a lot of time, but it is well worth it. i sound deadened the whole trunk, rear deck lid, rear seats, inner wheel well, doors, and the floor. Basically every spot in the car but the roof. I took my stock Navi out because i dont see the point in having two screens and i barely use my navi. I installed my imprint sound processor underneath the driver seat, it fits perfectly in there right next to the slit in the floor to hide all the wires. Here are some photos of the install.

One thing i really like about this HeadUnit is that you connect more than 1 audio source to it such as 2 ipods or an ipod and another audio drive such as a usb flash drive or a random mp3 player with the usb input. It is compatible with the iphone as well as it charges the phone. so i have both of my ipods connected to it. Let me know what you guys think or if you have any questions.

Looks great!

The only problem I would have is the entire trunk space is being taken up by your box. I have a single 12 in a box that fits under my package shelf that allows me still 2/3rds of my trunk (or more) to still use. But trunk space is a necessity for me as I have two kids. Definately not a criticism, just a difference in how people need to use their vehicles.

hey i have a question you have 3 amps there the, Alpine PDX-4.150, Alpine PDX-2.150, Alpine PDX-1.1000, now im assuming that you have the 1.1000 split to run the 2 subs, but for the other 2 amps a 4 channel and a 2 channel im wondering did you wire all the 6.5's as the fronts and the 6x9's on the rear channel for your head unit? or 2 channel for the fronts and 4 channel for the rears ?

you used 12g as power for those amps? you are most defiantly choking the power to those amps especially that 1.1000. you should be using at least 4g preferably 2g or 0g. also nice choice of speakers.

i am sure that he isn't running 12ga power and ground to all three amps... he said to "rewire" the system, as in new wires for the speakers...
