Anyone have this problem before?

I have a 2003 5AT coupe. For about two weeks now, I have had absolutely NO control over anything on my center console. I can't control the radio, CD player, cassette player, or the climate controls. Additionally, the radio display is blank, and all of the little lights on the miscellaneous center console buttons are blank (IE, not lighting up). FURTHERMORE, my HVAC is frozen at 76 degrees (because this has happened before and for some reason it remembers the last temperature that was set) and is on auto A/C and I can't shut it off.

More info: about a year ago my CD player stopped working and I get the "CD err fo" message. Radio and cassette player still work (up until now).

PS: I can control the volume with the steering wheel controls. Currently I have my iPod connected to the car via the cassette deck; this was the last thing I was using before I lost all control so the car "remembers" to play the cassette; otherwise I'd be screwed with no music and the A/C blowing full blast.

Sorry for the long rant, but has anyone ever experienced this before?

Thanks in advance!

first check the fuses and see if anything snapped...do your mirrors work?

if there aren't any bad fuses, then it sounds like your radio circuit board is gone

Noob question: where are the fuses located in our cars?

Mirrors work though.

If my radio circuit board is fried, how would I go about getting a replacement? Doesn't sound like I can buy it separately.

fuses are left driver side kick panel, by the dead pedal

from what other people say on here, a replacement from the stealership would run you 500 at least...many people at that point will replace said HU with an aftermarket ddin unit

I agree with "most people" here. Time for a good aftermarket HU!

If you can't afford that, jump to the marketplace and look for one, or post a WTB. Most who've replaced theirs will part for much less than $500.

Wait, so is my headunit also causing my HVAC to have a mind of its own too?
