I just got my disc today. Its been out for a couple of months now. I figured other people would give me their thoughts on this. Just ran it once today looked roughly the same nothing new or new icons at all.

I went from 6.2 to a 6.7 and i saw new icons and small stuff like exit ramp signs. But 6.7 ~> 6.8 looks the same, maybe new POI that i never use. Disc seems a little slower to boot then the 6.7

This is only for us 03-05 G35 owners.

Guess i'll post up what i notice about it as time goes on.

I don't have the 6.8 disc, but if it's anything like my 7.5 disc I got a few months ago, there were a lot of updates in there. More gas station icons and POI's were displayed, as well as several new roads that had popped up around me in the past few years that weren't included in previous update iterations. I don't play around with the nav settings at all and rarely use the nav for anything more than a live map while driving, but there's more crap now that's displayed than in the previous 7.4 update from 2008 . It also boots up slightly faster than my older versions did.

I went from 7.2 to 7.3 to 7.4 and the most updating I saw was from 7.4 to 7.5. Of course, this is YMMV.

 

HIGHLY depends on your area on how much "new" stuff you're going to get

my garmin 2010 update still doesn't have some roads that are 5 years old
