2006 Infiniti G35x iPod Adapter Installation
Hey everyone!
I bought the PAC uPAC-NIS1 iPod interface kit (http://pac-audio.com/productDetails....&CategoryID=22) for my 2006 Infiniti G35x sedan with the OEM Bose System and attempted to install it last night. Unfortunately everything did not go as planned and it didn't work. I followed all of the instructions on this site about how to remove the dash and head unit.
Has anyone had any experience installing this? My problem comes in when I had everything plugged in and could not select SAT on the radio at all. There's four buttons on the top of the radio that say CD, Radio, PTY/CAT, and DISP or something like that. From what I understand, you only have to hit the Radio button a few times to get to SAT. Mine only went FM1, FM2, AM and then back.
When I installed it, I unplugged the top-left wire and the bottom-right wire on the head unit and replaced those with the ones from the adapter unit. Then I plugged the original wires from the car into the female connections on the adapter.
Oh yeah, and when I plugged in my iPod to the connector, it began charging, so there must be power going to the unit. I just don't understand why SAT is not showing up?
Anyone have any ideas as to what may be happening?
Thank you!

I ended up trying to install the adapter again on Friday and it worked this time. There's a weird adapter "initialization" process that I may not have been following close enough. It works now though! Except the steering wheel controls don't really function well with the iPod, but that's not important to me anyway.
