Siruis Radio question...

Hey guys...

I bought my car used and it has a sirius antenna installed above the rear window. When I it the radio button, it tells me to give sirius a call to activate it. Is there anything else I need in order to do this? Since I didn't install the antenna myself, I don't have a registration number that came with the unit...

Thanks

you shouldn't need anything else. if the ph # is displayed, that means you're getting a signal through the antenna and sirius module. just call to activate it.

you need the unit ID or similar

then call Siruis and activate

I think you can fine the ID number by pushing info a few times

i think if you go to channel 001 it will give you the received ID. You will need to give that to siruis when activating.

Hey guys,

Thank you for your responses. I called and they sent an activation signal with the registration code. They mentioned that my radio needs to be turned to channel 841.

My problem is, I can't seem to get the 841. When I press the scan button, it scrolls through all of the channels quickly, and when I release the button - it goes back to 000.

Anyone have this problem? I don't think I can activate it until I can get to channel 841.

Thanks in advance.

It scrolls while I am pushing the button, when I get to any channel that I want to stop at, I lift my finger and it goes back to 000.

So weird.

Is there a way for me to individually tune into the channel?

press but don't hold the button. In other words to get to channel 800, you need to press it 800 times. But before doing that, see if it let's you tune down..say 000, 999, 998, etc. That would get you there faster to 841.

I wish that worked...I tried that too. When I just press up or down, it goes right back to 000 when I lift my finger.

well, you can always get the registration code that is on the sticker on the satellite tuning unit. For the coupe (not positive about the sedan), its located in the truck on the driver's side. You have to remove the carpet and the floor tray and then the plastic interior molding (it's held by one bolt and the it slides out).

Did you ever figure out this problem? I just bought an 06 Coupe and can't get Sirius activated. Aggravating since I had to cancel XM account and open new one for Sirius radio.

Basically have the same thing the OP described, Sirius just jumps to CH-000 and show the Radio ID over and over. Pressing tune up and down does nothing. Holding with scroll through channel, but when I release it just jump back to ch 0. Previous owner had a few presets, but again it just goes back to ch 0. Sirius sent probably 5 or 6 activation signals today, did some trouble shooting where I shut it off and open the door, still nothing.

Anything else I can check before looking for a replacement module?
