I've been debating between getting either the Eclipse AVN2454, Eclipse AVX2494, or the Kenwood DDX7015. Each one has different features that I want. I know Eclipse has historically been known to deliver good products, so I emailed them and asked what they had in store for the future.

Below is their response:

1. Your headunits have been known for their high voltage pre-outs, but i've read that this unit does not have any RCA pre-outs. Is this true? If so, do you plan on introducing a unit with a HD in the near future with high voltage RCA pre-outs?


<font color=red>We have received so many requests on introducing product that has all the good features such as high pre-out, HDD for music and Navi, VGA screen, XM/Sirius, MemoryStick, multi-zone, etc. We have forwarded the requests to the Product Planning Dept in Japan, and we are expecting that they come up with the product with many features. However, you need to wait until CES in Las Vegas (Jan 2005) for the announcement of the new products.</font color=red>


2. Will you be offering an add-on navigation system, similar to
Kenwood's KNA-DV4100 or Pioneer's AVIC-88DVD, so that the AVX2494 can be upgraded?

3. Some of your Japanese units have two hard drives integrated, one for navigation and one for music. Will this be an option in the U.S.? If so, when do you expect its release?


<font color=red>If Eclipse decides to introduce such product in the future, it will be as early as Feb 2005. However, we have not received any information on any future products as of today.</font color=red>

basically, all theyre saying is, wait for the CES show in Las Vegas to see what Japan has decided for America...

your next step is to email Japan and ask them the same questions...

wasnt there a guy on this forum who had the japanese version of the AVX-AVN combined?? we should ask him to ask his buddy...

i have the AVN and im happy with its performance, but it could be ALOT better...

i'm already trying to find a way to get into CES in Vegas.

i know the info they gave me was vague, but better than nothing. From the sound of it, something new and interesting will be introduced in January. That's better to know now than after you've purchased the AVX or AVN.
