I dont know what the hell im doing!

Ok so my factory amp went bad. Which is a external amplifier.

Someone told me a aftermarket radio bypasses the bose amplifier. So i just wire it up normaly and it will work fine. After doing some research i got really confused!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just bought a JVC double din. Will i still need my factory amplifier?
Or just the double din?

When i install my JVC head unit will my speakers work properly?

Also the headunit i bought Came with a wiring harness from a 05-06 g35 coupe Bose system. I have a 03-04 g35 with bose will that harness work?

if your factory amp is bad youll have to bypass it..which means finding the amp...finding the speaker wire output from the amp (wires that run from the amp to the speakers) and extend the speaker outputs from the jvc radio (green, purple, white, gray wires coming out of jvc) to the factory amplifiers output wires you found...you will either need a printout of factory amp wires or test one at a time....good luck...and yes im a professional installer...how do you know your factory amp is bad? the harness you bought will power up the headunit but you will have no sound until you do the above

arent the output wires coming out of the factory amplifier, the same wires that lead to the front harness, that i would have to wire up to the JVC radio?

Ok so i found this diagram.. basically your saying i would have to run the speaker wires from the JVC radio to the back of the car to the wires on this harness that says, "spkrs" or "inputs"?

Or over all, i can just get a aftermarket amplifier, Run RCAs from my JVC head unit to the AMP. And then splice wires into the speaker wires on the factory bose amp, and run it directly to the aftermarket amp?

Correct me if im wrong.

-----sometimes colors are diff but if amp is bad then sound going into amp will never come out. in that diagram it clearer shows the input wires are different colors then the output wires

Ok so i found this diagram.. basically your saying i would have to run the speaker wires from the JVC radio to the back of the car to the wires on this harness that says, "spkrs" or "inputs"? ------"spkrs" the output are the wires that go directly to speakers and u would actualy cut them off the amp and wire to jvc...so the factory amp doesnt interfere anymore...you can unplug the power harness to the amp since you have the diagram showing which harness it is.

-------with that diagram just jump the input speakers to output "spkrs" on amp...basically "bypassing amp" with that diagram it makes doing that easy. so with diagram no need to run speaker wires all the way to amp...whereever you found that diagram you did a good job. and then you can use nissan harness at radio as normal since the outputs go directly to speakers instead of amp...understand?

Or over all, i can just get a aftermarket amplifier, Run RCAs from my JVC head unit to the AMP. And then splice wires into the speaker wires on the factory bose amp, and run it directly to the aftermarket amp?

-----yes with aftermarket amp and jvc with rca outputs you can run three sets of rcas one for fronts one for rears and one for subs to two amps one 4 channel amp to power highs and one amp to power a sub if you diong a sub but for the highs you then have to run speaker wires either to each individual spaker OR to amp output wires since the speakers all run back to factory amp...got it?

Correct me if im wrong.

-----this diagram is great where did you find it?

sounnds like you know what your doing now

-----oh and whoever told you an aftermarket raio bypass factory amp was incorrect...in a g35 when you install a aftermarket radio you get power from both if you use nissan harness behind radio and you have factory amp power and aftermarket radio power combined since it runs through factory amp.

Correct me if im wrong.

Are you running a coupe or sedan?

Either way, the Bose system has 5 (sedan) or 6 (coupe) speakers+woofers. The JVC may have four amplified channels, so if you were to just bypass the Bose amp so that the right-front input went directly to the right-front output, left-front input went directly to left-front output, etc., you'd only be able to power four channels.

If you want all your factory speakers/woofers to work, you'll need to run RCAs from the JVC to the trunk, and an 8 or 4 gauge power wire from the battery, and use a 6-channel amp.

The only wire from the Bose amp harness you'll re-use is the amp remote turn-on wire.

The wiring harness from the 05/06 is the same, you'll re-use it, but you won't be connecting the RCAs from the Bose wiring harness, since your new RCAs will be carrying the signal to the rear.

-or-
The alternative is use the JVC's internal amp by bypassing the Bose amp, using the JVC to power the front and rear speakers. You'll need to rewire the headunit harness so that the amplified speaker channels from the JVC go to the wires that the Bose harness's RCAs normally connect to so that you have an amplified signal running to the rear. If you don't do this, you'll be sending an unamplified signal to the rear, which won't make any sound out of the speakers without an amp. To power the woofer(s) buy a 2-channel amp with speaker-level inputs getting signal from the same place you spliced the inputs to outputs at the Bose amp harness. You'd still need to run a new power wire to the amp. (And if you're doing that you might as well run new RCAs to a 6 channel amp, increasing sound quality all around).

I GOT IT GREAT >> 100% understand.. i shall just get a aftermarket amp. Im assuming it will sound alot better then bypassing the factory amp.

Also i search "G35 bose amplifier diagram" on google for the diagram

alternate way to handle this....

run new wires to your speakers from the head unit to the speakers

might take some time but i think its worth it.

When I bought the car I didnt want bose for this reason. Some are tricky to bypass and i didnt want to mess with it.

If you do run them from the HU to the speakers, leave enough excess wire that you can run them to the trunk without disassembling the doors again. If you ever want to add an amplifier later, it'll be a huge time investment in a few feet of wire.

yea but.. wont the speakers sound better with a aftermarket amplifier. rather then bypassing the factory amplifier?

Yes, but if you're saving money by not putting an aftermarket amp in at this time, and powerin the speakers from the headunit, at least use enough excess wire that you can use that same wire to reach the amp location in the trunk later.

We've got a few diverging conversations in this thread. So make sure you're reading advice for any specific question.

I would say that most aftermarket headunits using their internal amplifier will power four speakers better than the Bose amplifier can, however, the Bose amplifier powers 5 or 6 speakers/woofers depending on sedan/coupe, so you won't be powering everything with an aftermarket headunit alone. An aftermarket headunit plugged into an aftermarket amp would be even better and can power as many channels as the amp supports.
