Question for Zenclosures Owners

I have an 04 coupe. I am considering purchasing a Zenclosures box for 2 10" subs. But, I have never actually seen one of these boxes in person. in our cars, there is a 2-3 inch gap between the back seat and the trunk area. Does the Zenclosures box come all the way up to the back seats, or does it leave this gap? Ideally, I would like to mount my amps to the front of the box, behind the rear seats. Will there be room? Also, in case it matters, the amps are JL 300/4 and JL 500/1.

Thanks,
James

I don't have a Coupe or a Zenclosure box, but it's generally considered a bad idea to mount your amps to a sub box. The box is designed to resonate, and can't do that as effectively with a sub strapped to it's back. And it's not good for the amp to be subjected to all that vibration.

i have done a few cars with the z-enclosure box and even built my own. It does allow enough room between the back of the box and the back of the seat to mount your amp. For that matter in my g coupe i have both an amp and a 1/2 farad cap on the back seat. It is worth mentioning that these boxes do not offer alot of depth and you should not put a really large sub that requires alot of air space. I have a kicker cvr 10 in the one i built and i had to fill the box with polly-fill to slow down the air inside the box so the sub wouldnt bottom out. hope this helps

I have the ZC with two 10'' JL W6V2. Amp is mounted on the back seat with little room.

What I have noticed is, the amp gets hot in between the small area. I have a fan built in on my amp and it still over heats. Turns off on HOT HOT days... turn ignition off and back on, its back to working...

I have a Zen Closure, and it wastes a lot of room, you would have room for an amp or two or maybe three mounted to that thing, I had it set up that way for a while actually. Mine is for a single 12, I also covered it in black vinyl. It looks pretty good, but it wastes lots of precious trunk space. I would sell it if you are interested, PM me. You can get by with one good 12 rather than two 10's and it would be a bit deeper bass.
