sub install for non-bose.

What do i need to do to install an amp for a sub for a 05 coupe with non bose?

treat it as any normal base car in your situation.. if you want to keep a stock headunit get a high output rca converter run it to your door speaker.. then everything else is normal amp,kit, etc..

I was about to do the same crap but the JL audio converter was going to charge me like a couple hundred bucks, so I said eff it, I'm doing an DD upgrade + sub install. Try finding a JL audio cleansweep around, I heard those are pretty good.

Well im going to eventually add a dd headunit and an 4 channel amp and speakers. But I unfortunately cannot until later down the road. I already have a 2 channel kenwood amp and jl w3 sub. I was just wondering how to run connect the signal to the amp from the headunit.

The question was installing an AMP for a sub. He said nothing about a sub.

Since there's no line out on the factory base headunit, if your amp doesn't have speaker-level inputs, you'll need a line output converter. Either way you'll have to tap one or both of the rear speakers for your signal.

OK. I just looked at my amp and it does have speaker level inputs.
