Avic F900bt static?
I got my avic f900bt DD installed professionally from a shop and I'm getting constant static. It's not bad but it really degrades audio quality. I had this same unit installed in my celica when I had it and I didn't have an issue.
I can't go back there because I drive out to Vancouver, BC (1700km) tomorrow because that's where I live primarly. I got the install done here because like I said they did a flawless job on the celica.
I searched and found a few people with the same problems but none of them got answered or had a solution.
What do you guys think? I disabled all audio sources and just had the navi by itself and yeah nothing but static. This setup costs too much to be flawed.

There have been occurances with the Bose system having noise with an aftermarket HU, but it's not consistent enough to blame the Bose 100% of the time.
If you do have Bose system, it's possible you have one of the amps that hates aftermarket HUs. You may end up having to replace the amp as well.
If you have the base system, your installed screwed something up.

I'm looking to buy the steering wheel controller to work with the unit as well

Thanks in advance!
Did you use the 70-7551 wiring harness (the one with RCA connectors) or the 70-7550?
I've used the 70-7551 with a Pioneer U310BT, and had no noise issues. If you used the 70-7550 harness, then you're feeding speaker-level outputs into line level inputs, and that would very easiliy create some noise.

well
i assume they used the 70-7551 but it's likely that they used the 70-7550.
The way to check is for RCA connectors? Is there any other way to see what harness they used?

The only way to tell is by looking at the back of the unit. The RCA connectors are a dead giveaway. If you can get a view of the back of the unit at all with an inspection/dentist mirror and flashlight, it will be obvious if the RCA connectors are connected to the back of the unit.

Rofl. I just checked my invoice and they used "Nissan Harness Part #707550"
So they did use the wrong harness. Is that why? Will it make that much of a difference? How long would it take do you think to get it swapped because I need to leave for home soon. (i do have the bose system)

Sure, read the reciept, I guess reading the reciept is another way.
I would definitely blame the harness now. Since the 70-7550 throws an amplified signal to the amp, you're multiplying any noise in the system.
Like I said, I haven't had a problem with using the 70-7551 on Bose systems. One of the shops that I got parts from recommended the 70-7550 since some people weren't getting sound from the Pioneers with it. I blame this on Pioneer defaulting the rear channels to subwoofer output only on the line outputs, and hiding the place to change it in the initial setup menu.
If the shop does it, they can probably have it done in less than an hour for an 05/06, maybe another 20min or so for the 03/04.

yeah its an 06.
i'll get it swapped out for sure, yesterday i called them to complain. they told me to come in the morning when the installers were around to check it out.
This is really dumb because I told them to be sure to use the right harness for the bose system.

They might have been out of the 70-7551's and the 70-7550 "works".
Like I said, since Pioneers are sometimes configured to send only subwoofer output to the rear, it's possible that other people bought the 7551 and couldn't get sound from the rear on their Bose G35s, and when switching to the 7550, could, so the the shop figured that the 7550 was the proper one to use.
I'm pretty sure this shouldn't be a problem though, since the F900BT has dedicated front, rear and subwoofer outputs, in contrast to the U310BT and which only has front and rear. Still, you might need to check the AV sound settings for the rear if if they say they used the 7551 and got no sound from the rear.

I'm probably over 7,000 miles away from you right now, so don't hold your breath.
From the problems I've helped on this forum in the last few months, I'm convinced I could live in SoCal off the pizza and mtn dew I'd acquire helping people with their installs.

Hey
They said they tried the 7551 first (without me mentioning it) but it delivered audio way too low so thats why they used the 7550. I confirmed with the installer that they did use the 7551 with the rca's and yeah there was no other work around.
I'll leave it for now because I have to do a 1700km drive now to my city but if theres anything else I can do to help fix the issue that would be cool. The hissing is a little annoying but the audio still sounds good none the less...

I have the same problem. I have the f90bt. I used the 7551 first but the sound output was way to low. So I switched it with the 7550 and now the sound is fine, I just have static. They say if you switch out your amp/speakers the static would be gone.
