Radio help

I was driving tonight and the radio started to act funny. Im guessing its a sign of impending doom. Here's a picture of what I've got. I'd like to keep the stock look. any recommendations for replacement?

Well, you can look at the sticky for the double din kit and installation.

Wow, is that really wood?

Did you not read it all? It is the factory wood trim kit. I think it's plastic.

Oh, my bad. You would have a REALLY hard time keeping the stock face plate. If you read the double din sticky in this section, you can see how much electronics are connected to it.

I think your best bet would be to replace the Bose HU with another one, I am pretty sure you can get one on ebay or on here in the classifieds section.

Also I think ebay has wood trim kits you could add to the JDM double din kit, I am sure I saw some for the G35. I cruise ebay looking for G35 stuff...

Hope that helps some.

I'm at work, so I can't see the pics, but if it's the 05/06, I'm 99.9% sure that there isn't a wood trim replacement.

What exactly do you mean by "act funny"? You can still use another stock radio, and just put the wood trim on it, and if you seach hard enough, I think there was somebody who attempted (I can't remember if it was successful) to modify the wood trim to house a DD.

Yes it's an 05. I was playing a cd and people in my car were talking so I pushed the "off" button on the face of the radio. Nothing happened. I then pushed some of the other buttons and got no response. I then used the steering wheel button to control it and it was working fine, however, the display was stuck on "cd 1 XXXX" whatever the display is when a cd is playing. It stayed like that while I had the radio on, sat, on etc. I turned the car off and when it restarted it was working normally.

Control board's probably going out. If you find somebody who's got the mechanical difficulties (CD ERR) with their headunit and replaced it, you can probably get their old board for cheap and put it on yours.
