06 Sedan Audio/Video Upgrades!! In Progress

I have finally started the upgrade process.

Current A/V Mods:

- A/V and 3.5mm Jacks in Center Console
- TVandNav2Go Box
- Pac NIS2 Aux Box
- Alpine Mono Sub Amp
- Alpine 10" Type-R
- Alpine HCE-C105 Back-up Cam
- Pac SOEM-T LOC for Amp
- KnuKonceptz Audio Wiring

Future A/V Mods:

- 4080 Enclosure 10"
- Not really sure what else outside of Viper Smart Start iPhone module .

Parts in these pictures:
- Center Console Video Jacks (L-Com http://www.l-com.com/item.aspx?id=8305)
- TVandNav2Go Video switch (Radio Shack http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2062511)

Just used a step bit to drill the holes for the jacks and Video switch. I had to notch out a small section on the under brace where the top console and bottom console meet.

The Amp install. In Progess

I am sticking with the factory system, but adding a 10" Type R and a Mono Alpine Amp. For now I am going to use the existing box that the Type R is in and plan to pick up the 4080 enclosure. (Anyone selling the sedan 10" )

I am using 1/4 MDF that I cut down to 12"x17" and used self tapping metal screws to mount the board for the amp.

Parts in these pictures:
- PAC Audio SOEM-T LOC. (http://pac-audio.com/productDetails....&CategoryID=28)

Looks pretty clean, but Monster Cable? That stuff isn't any better than any other wire that costs 1/10th the price.

Actually this is stuff I have had laying around for probably 10 years now. I have learned to not be too much of brand junky.

^ Alright, but if you bought it recently, you're only deceiving yourself.

What's the switch switching?

I am waiting for the TVandNAV2Go box, I assumed there is a switch to go between Video and Nav. I bought a SPDT switch to be safe as I am not sure if the Box has two leads (one for nav and one for video) or if it just switches when a single lead hits ground, etc.

I ended up adding a 3.5mm jack to the center console (just to the right of switch) since the PAC NIS2 has 2 Aux inputs. So the Red/White jacks are Aux 1 and the 3.5mm is Aux2.

I have the center console installed and all tested, just waiting for the Nav box now. I mounted the PAC NIS2 under the center console and expect to mount the Nav box under the radio pending size of actual box.

^Thanks, I finally got everything hooked up tonight, Backup cam, Amp and Aux inputs. Just waiting for the TVandNav2Go box now (will be here on Wed). I will post some updated pics tomorrow.

Anyone looking for a LOC, the PAC one is awesome when tied into the Bose Sub. It requires a bit more wiring with Power and Ground, but well worth it.

Amp and Back-up Cam Install Finished

Here are some pics of the final install of the Amp and Back-up Cam.

Although I haven't been able to test the Back-up cam, I have heard the Alpine is by far one of the better ones and the size is a HUGE bonus. (FYI, ignore the Iowa plate , I never changed them)

As for the wires, these are extremely great quality at a great price IMO. The power wires are flexible enough to curl in a tiny circle. Huge difference between the quality of these wires and mainstream like Monster Cable.

EDIT: I am looking to MAT the trunk lid as that is the only place I am getting any significant rattle from. Anyone know if the trunk struts need to be replaced if I do this. The factory ones seem pretty good as the trunk sits pretty vertical when opened all the way.

Does your G have factory nav? I'm wondering if your aux inputs run straight to the nav lcd? if so where did you connect them to?

^ He's using the TVandNav2Go unit to interface with the factory nav screen.

Finally

I finally have everything hooked up, I ended up getting a new TVandNav2Go box since the one they sent me got fried. Everything is working 100% and car is fully reassembled. Final pics tomorrow.

Anybody have good pictures of their TVandNav box video quality? I am going to go hit YouTube right now. I may have to play with it a bit as the colors don't see great on the iPod Touch video/Back-up camera right now, but Nav screen is perfect.

Updated Pics

Here are the updated pics all fully completed (for now, haha).

I am still disappointed with the video quality on the TVandNav2Go box. The Nav screen is flawless, but the video is very washed out. Whites are very washed and darks are very dark. I have tried all settings and reset on box and adjusted my factory brightness setting to no avail. Maybe a bad box so sending pics to them for input.

Enjoy (and yes it is Nemo, I grabbed my sons iPod to test a cartoon movie to see if video was any better).
