Radar Detector Recommendation?

Hey all,

So I got my third ticket within 2 weeks last night and am in dire need of a radar detector. I live in Virginia so radar detectors are illegal so i preferably need one that can be concealed or hardwired in somewhere. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks in advance

Escort 9500ix - it's basically the same system as the Valentine 1 without the arrows, but this is a GPS enabled radar detector that alerts you to where red light cameras, speed cameras and speed traps are too.

Not sure where you can mount it if it's illegal in your state, but if that's the case, you might want to look for one that's undetectable by RDD (radar detector detector), like Bel's STi

You will not find any question where there are more "black and white" answers. Everyone is a "fanboi" of one brand or the other.

The bottom line is, stay away from ANYTHING that costs less than $350. The cheapest detector worth owning is a Bel (owned by Escort). Bel. Escort, or Valentine are about the only thing worth owning.

I have owned several Escorts, and they are wonderful. I have no time with a Valentine. I will say this, ALL of my Escorts have had trouble with the "service required" notice on the display. I just turn them off, give em a good smack and turn them back on. I MAY try a V1 this time since the new 9500 and the V1 are the same price now.

i had an 8500 and it was only worth paying hundreds for when it worked...which wasn't all the time. finally after about a year or two it needed service which escort would not pay for, after all the research i've done i'd say valentine 1

I run the passport SRX, which is completely concealed... Never have had any problems with cops Escort has come out with a newer version of it, but it is pretty much the same thing. This type of detector is a little bit more expensive but it is worth not getting a ticket and worth it being completely hidden for you in Virginia.

it is pretty simple, when the radar Detect any band specially out KA BAND there then just hit the break to the speed limit.

Look up Invisicord to make life easier if you want to stealth mount and hard wire your radar detector...
