Guys,

I've done some searching and I've also owned JLs back in the day. I like them but I wanted some opinions.

My box is a single 10" zenclosure for the coupe. .8 cubic feet of airspace.

My amps are either a Memphis 1000d (~600 watts @ 2ohms) or a Kicker zx400.1 (~400 watts @ 2ohms).

Either sub will be a 2 ohm sub.

What's the all around better sub, the JL 10w3 or the Alpine Type R?

I enjoy my music pretty clean but with a good bottom end.

my Alpine Type R requires exactly 0.6 to 0.8 cb. ft. of space. Have had it for FOUR years and it bumps as hard as the day i took it out of the box. I couldn't be happier with it!
