isimple ipod integration into 06 coupe 6mt

Just installed my isimple ipod kit in the car very simple and works great. Best Buy sells them and would highly recommend this kit.

How well does it work, what "control" do you get.

Do you listen to your music LOUD? Do you notice how much LOWER the sound is AND the reduction in sound QUALITY through the iSimple Gateway? I installed mine last week with the latest isimple firmware, iphone 3GS IOS4 v.4.3.3.My ipod music volume is SO EXTREMELY low that I'm about ready to send it back!!

Best Buy also charges almost double what you can get it for online. Even higher than the MSRP on the isimple site. You get "free" installation at best buy, you're just paying for it in the price of the device.

I noticed this too. However, about a week after I installed mine I replaced my speakers, amp and sub with aftermarket. Completely solved the problem of being too quiet. Now I can listen at ear-bleeding levels!

I have a sub setup too- the issue is with the gateway.. Go from CD or Radio to iPod & you'll notice a HUGE reduction in sound. I was able to fix it by boosting volume on all playlists/songs to +100% in iTunes.. Now it's much closer to ACTUAL volume..

Are you using iPhone or iPod?

iPhone 3GS- latest firmware on phone & gateway. Sound check / eq / volume limit all off. DEFINITELY the gateway. Tried running AUX 1 thru headphone jack & also another MP3 player. VERY AGGROVATING.. For $120+ I should have NO ISSUES..

Yea, you guys know what's up with this or how to fix this? I have an iPhone 4 and when I plug it in my girlfriend's AUX jack, I get volume control in the iPod app as well as the car itself and it can get super loud. When I plug my iPhone into the iSimple, volume controls disappear and it's low as crap. I usually have to turn my car stereo up to about 28 avg for good listening. At that level on Radio or CD, it's crazy loud. I'm guessing it's an apple/iPod thing with the port because it did that when I had an FM transmitter hooked up as well. Any fix?

The closest thing to a fix is boosting the volume to around +100% on ALL SONGS in iTunes .. That's the only reason I didn't yank it out & send it back.. There's NO REASON this should happen. ESPECIALLY with updated firmware on BOTH DEVICES!!

The iTunes app itself or in the actual settings somewhere?

Also, I use pandora a lot, and it's the same thing. No way to enhance the volume on the screen either.

In iTunes - select ALL songs / playlists that you want to boost. Right click / I think properties or "other" & it will show -/+ 100%. move slider to +100%, & all selected songs will be CLOSER to radio/CD volume. Also be sure all music is @ highest possible quality/bitrate.

Gotcha. I'm guessing once I did that, I'd have to re-sync right?

Also, is there a fix for pandora? I use pandora more than my current playlists on my iPod. Lol
