Hey guys,
I recently picked up a Pioneer Z1 head unit and nearly have everything for the install, just deciding what ipod connection to use.

Was looking for some feedback since i have heard pros and cons to everything
here are the 3 options(as far as I know):
1.The basic ipod connector cord for computers,
Can I get video AND audio from this though, if so how is the actually connection
2.Pioneer CD-IU50V USB Interface Cable for iPod/iPhone
Seems pretty basic as far as connection

Also, In glancing at my Z1 unit i don't see an accessible usb port, am i just not seeing where these are going to plug in or what?

This seems to be the best, as far as I can tell, but apparently there is no way to play video through this connection? I am not a video fanatic or anything but would prefer to keep capability to play it

I would appreciate any reviews/responses. I am not concerned with the price point on any items since they are all fairly trivial. Thanks in advance!!

 

you need the CD-IB100II to use your ipod with a Z1.

I dont think it will do video, but it may.

 

The Z1-series only supports iPod audio and control through the CD-IB100II cable.

To watch iPod video, you must connect it using an iPod cable with the composite video output and watch the video through the standard AV input source on the Z1. You will have no control over the iPod through the headunit.

The is $49, but is only 10% of that.

 

yeah i have the CD-IU50V and I am not able to watch videos with it, only audio.
