Pioneer DD

I am looking to get a pioneer dd this week so i need a little help at choosing a good one without spending too much for the z1. The three I am looking at are the avh-p4200dvd which does not have navi but has the option to add that on. avic-x920bt and the avic-z910bt which both already have navi on them. They all seem good and have a good price so if anyone has suggestions or has one of these already give some input on them. thanks!

I'm in the same boat but my wife wanted a nav unit. I'm about to pick up the x920bt at al-eds.com who is an authorized online pioneer retailer. Pioneer only honors their manufacturer warranty from authorized online retailers.

I ordered mine for $750 shipped with coupon code pio250.

yea between the two avic models im liking the x920bt more. i went to the local audio shop and they had the 910bt for around a grand. didnt get to ask about the other two so might have to go back in and see if they have them in stock.

No such thing as a Z910BT, unless it's in a different country that renamed it.

The X910BT is a huge step down from the X920BT, but the Z110BT is mostly just a X920BT with older software (to have an available software upgrade to match the X920's software and renamed the Z120BT by end of June, according to Pioneer).

You can't go wrong with the X920BT or the Z110BT really, but the X910BT is a waste.

Check prices from authorized dealers on amazon.com on the headunits, because both of them are under $1k there. And having your warranty be valid is a good thing.

Yeah, that's probably the cheapest you'll see it for a while. I found the x910bt for $5xx from a seller on amazon but I read about the lag with those units and I couldn't have that. I figured it would pay off for me to invest a couple hundred more on the 920 and have it for about 2-4 years, as opposed to getting tired of the problems with the 910 and wanting to get into another head unit after 1 year.

It comes out to about $830 with tax but you'll pay that just about anywhere.

Good choice. My wife has the F90BT with the 3.0 software upgrade, which makes it a X910BT without the new plastic face on it. I'm worried when she sees my Z110BT installed (same internals as the X920BT) she'll want to upgrade.

The X910's a decent unit, but the little lags and slow boot just degrade its value so much. Still a good radio for $500, but when there's the X920 for $300 more, it's an easy choice.
