Some of my customers wanted to see my amp installed in my car. I did not want to do any custom work to install the amp. I wanted it out of the way and not under the floor. So I opted to install it under the rear deck. The amp is a Rockford 400.4. The front channels power my KEF coax speakers and the rear channels power my 10" Rockford P3. I did need to cut the heat sinks on the amp to get it to fit under the rear deck. I do not have the grill installed on my box because I am always using it for a customers box.

Looks great, my 4080 box should be here in a few days. I can't wait! I never thought about mounting an amp under the rear deck.

No heat issues. I have had it installed there for about a month now and it works perfect.

Looks schweet! I had the same thing done. A JL 500/1 and a 300/2 mounted under the rear deck. For me, I had it mounted on a carpeted MDF board to firmly secure the amps. I've had it for over 6 months now during the entire summer and no heat issues.

I wish I had your box, but I was impatient and had a custom one done in the same location, but much bigger to fit a 10W7. I'm wondering if a 10W6 on the right side with the W7 would be good... :P I also thought about upgrading my 300/2 to a 450/4 and biamp my components, but it's way too big to fit under the rear deck with the 500/1.

Having two diff. subs will cause lots of issues. I would not do it.
