My new system
Re: My new system
Yah, I forgot to mention that stealth install of the SWI-X snesor. Great! Great! Great!
You should talk to BAMADOG cause he was trying to find a location to place that sensor....

Re: My new system
Thanks Spud & doc. I routed the wire up thru the shift boot, secured it to the shifter with a ziptie, then screwed the shift **** back on. Seems to work ok from there. Doesn't work great in 1st gear, but then again, how long are you in 1st gear anyways. I haven't had a chance to play with it too much yet. I'll suggest the move to bama if it works well for me (and if he has 6mt).

Re: My new system
Nice clean, crisp install. I wish I was a do-it-yourselfer. I know if I tried to attempt an install like that I'd break or scratch something. And I'm sure once I was done it wouldn't work quite right.

Re: My new system
It Wasn't hard to do, just take your time. I was on vacation so I did it slowly over about 7 days. I just followed the DIY guides and took it slow and had fun. What took the longest was taking apart the old HVAC unit and re-wiring and re-assembling the new head unit to the wiring harness. Looked intimidating at first, but just take it 1 wire at a time. I def. recommend soldering rather than crimping.

Re: My new system
Just ground the green parking brake sensor wire. It plays DVD's while you are driving that way. Not that I would ever do that or recommend anyone else do that. NICELY DONE!
I'm having STRICTLY Z install my AVIC-N1 head unit tomorrow! How much time did it take for you to install everything?
BoBs =)

Re: My new system
I took it slow and did it over about 7 days. I double and triple checked the wiring so I didn't have to take it all apart again. Spent some time routing all the wires. Had to wait for the Dynamat Extreme to come by UPS (man onlinecarstereo.com had some slow shipping). I got my double din parts from Japan in 5 days (arrived on a Sunday) but it took 11 days for me to get the Dynamat from an LA based company (and I live in Socal lol)
