Exclamation Problem with dash, audio ac control unit, please help

i have an 03 g35 coupe with sports package and it has a bit of high mileage (just over 100k miles) and im not sure if that has anything to do with it, but maybe the wiring has slipped

my main dash where the tape deck/cd player is and all the ac controls wont light up, the volume and mode buttons on the steering wheel still work but my ac is stuck on and the buttons on the dash wont respond

i plan on having some custom audio work done but not for a month or two does anyone know about this issue, is it common?

thanks for all your help!

Control board for your headunit/ac went bad.

Installing a new headunit with new a/c controls will solve the problem permanently. Punching the left side of the headunit may temporarily return it to operation in the meantime.

https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-v...urce-list.html has everything you need to purchase.

Headunits themselves are a bit subjective, so you need to give us your budget, desired features, and priority of features to give a better suggestion in that department.

thanks for your help, i plan on spending around 1000 for the audio set up, i have good connections and can manage to get some things for cheap, i want a pretty decent sized screen for a head unit, with a dvd player..... i have used alpine many times in past cars and seemed to work great, except for some of their head units would stop responding or get cd's stuck in them, i guess their known for that..... but im looking to install 2 10'' subs, a alpine v12 1000 watt amp, and some kind of head unit with a bigger screen display..... if that helps...

So features-wise, navigation? bluetooth? 6-channel output? high-volt pre-amps? front inputs? rear inputs?

$1k doesn't go too far when you're looking at 2 10" subs (min $100 each for something decent), an enclosure ($140 zenclosure is recommended), double din kit ($100 for Metra if combo'd from crutchfield, $300+ for JDM), headunit ($300-1400), amp wiring ($40+) and anything else you come across.

well its gotten worse, it might be a shortened wire becuase it comes on and turns back off..... the volume control on the steering wheel still works but thats the only thing, and every time i turn on the car and it shows no lighting on the tape deck the ac is always stuck on and i cant shut it off so it kills my mileage to work... any clue how much just the unit would cost to fix?

About $300 for repairs from a repair shop, $600 for the dealer to fix it, or $250 for a basic single-din conversion with a Metra kit if you get a $150 headunit from crutchfield.com.

having the same problem. I looked at a Metra 99-7604B DD and I was wondering if I buy that will that fix the problem about the circuit board? It comes with a seperate wire for a/c controls. I cant figure it out and havent found anything on it. Wasnt sure if i would need a new circuit board as well with the DD and after market radio. all help is appreciated. thanks.

Metra a/c has all the circuits for a/c control. Add a headunit and you're good to go.
