NAVandTV2Go + iPod Factory Integration kit. Compatible?
NAVandTV2Go + iPod Factory Integration kit. Compatible?
Hi. I'm a total noob to all this electronic modding stuff, so I really need your help. I just got a 2007 Infiniti G35 AT with OEM Navi. I would like to be able to do the following:
1. Retain all functions of OEM navigation including sound
2. Play and charge iPod through OEM stereo with control from steering wheel
3. Install back-up camera that turns on when car is put in Reverse
No additional video output. Once the car goes back to D, the Navi screen should return.
What would I need to purchase in order to achieve this?
I'm thinking: NAVandTV2Go, iPod Factory Integration kit. Are these two kits compatible?
Also, any links to a DIY for the NAVandTV2Go would be greatly appreciated. All the old links seem to have been deleted.
Thanks in advance.

So you're going to end up spending roughly $500 to keep an outdated, poor navigation system and have rearview and iPod?
You could do:
$300 JDM Kit (even less if from the marketplace)
$445 Pioneer 3200BT
$50 harness & steeringwheel adapter
$5 relay to keep nav voice
And have 10x better iPod interface, able to play DVDs, iPod video, rearview, bluetooth hands-free, a nice big touchscreen, USB, SD card, and most importantly, a headunit that isn't known for very common failure like the factory one.
$300 more now to do it right, or $500 in parts you'll be trying to sell when your factory unit goes out.
