Hi everyone, i'm currently piecing together the audio system for my G35c and have run into a minor obstacle. We just installed an Eclipse AVN 2454 double DIN unit and it works great! Except while in (P), the fold down face hits the gear shift - stopping it from folding down completely.

I think the easiest fix would be a smaller, aftermarket gear shift ****? I think all I need is maybe another 1/4" to solve this problem?

Any suggestions? Has anyone else encountered a similar problem?

Any pics of the problem? Is the unit mounted flush? Maybe you can drill some holes in the mounting bracket so the unit sits farther back in the dash. I've heard other people have had to do this to get thier screen to sit flush. Good luck.

Thanks Skaline and Sukairain... I will try to reset the unit a little further back into the dash - that is a possibility. I just wonder if it will be enough to make a difference?

I am also considering a different shift ****. However i'm not sure there is one out there for auto's that is small enough to make a difference? I see a Momo unit out there, but it doesn't look any smaller than the OEM shift ****?

I alwyas thought that this problem existed. There's nothing you can do about it except just not have the car in P while you're opening and closing it. I dont personally have the unit but this is what I have heard.

i have the 2454...

the only fix is to put it in R when folding down!
