iSimple PXAMG with iOS 4 iPhone (SOLVED)

If you want to control your iPhone 4 with the iPhone itself and not the head unit, do the following:

1) Disconnect the iSimple box.
2) Wait 10 minutes.
3) Move dip switch 4 to On
4) Reconnect iSimple box.
5) You are good to go.

If you want full functionality with the iPhone 4, you will need to purchase a new daughter board for your box. It should be coming out soon.

It was a joke...I have an iPhone 3g but, I can tell you as soon as the android phone comes out at the end of this month that thing is getting sold. These phones are to outdated...even the iPhone 4 is behind times. Good info though...

Yeah it turns off the headunit and steering wheel controls. You have to upgrade that daughter board to get that control back.

Recently had this done, works fine except for the inability to control next track and such on the steering wheel. It also still charges the iPhone 4 although it's really slow.

Has anyone purchased and installed the daughter board? Any comments? Is it worth getting and how hard is the install?

Thanks so much for your tip. My install is in a Ford Freestyle. All switches off but 4 and my iPhone 3GS with IOS4 works when controlled by iPhone (what I've always wanted anyway) and charges. Side note: iPad also plays back, but does not charge.

FYI. I bought the PXAMG-IC upgrade part and put it in my g35. Didn't work with the ios4. Called and it seems like they don't sell the parts separate anymore. But they'll let you send in your old one and they'll send in a new box with the chip installed at the factory for the price the chip used to cost (plus shipping). My should arrive in the next day or two.

Thank you for posting this information. Since Apple changes their iPhone format on what seems like a yearly basis we have to update the product all the time. If anyone else has this problem please contact AAMP of America at:
