From my personal experience with diamond you need to over power them to get them to play well and they love to be in an enclosure. Try sealing the door pods and dynamat your doors to help with vibrations.

Yeah, it'd probably sound good.

I'm still an advocate of AB-class amps for mids/tweeters though.

But these new d-class amps are getting very good, and compact too.

Well, finally had the time to take a closer look at the situation. Turns out the "professional" installer set my HPF on the amp at 160hz so that's why my fronts sounded like crap! I set it back to 80hz (on the amp) and turned the HPF (on alpine HU) off and left the "loud" setting on. Sounds much better and back to normal. I'm sure those BA's would sound nicer but gotta save up some dough! Thanks for all the help!

Hm... I was on to something there.

I seem to recall saying something about it being up above 80hz too.

+1 interwebs for myself!

Another thing i discovered online was that there's a setting for the subwoofer on the alpine HU where you can set it to "1" or "2" which made a huge difference! I think makes the sub signal independent or something like that. Now I have a ton of bass....good bass of course.

Now assuming all my settings are appropriate, i have decent sound up front, but still lacking a small bit in the mid bass. Do those BA pro60 SE fit with the bracket it comes with or do I need to install a spacer? Should I mount the tweeter in the stock location (pillar?)?

You can modify the bose speaker holders to house the BA's, but the zenclosure spacers are just $19.99/pair, so do it right.

Cool, point taken. Did you put the tweets in the stock location or made a new hole?

Making a new hole would probably be best in terms of sound quality and output, but I preferred total stealth.

Wow! What a difference with the pro60se's. Just put em in last night and they blow away my diamond audio da5.6 (old model). It's just very accurate mid bass and just blends very well. The highs are little brighter than I'm use to but very clear and I can hear more details. I'm very satisfied with em...thanks Wrathernaut!

Too bright? You can reduce the level on the tweeters by removing the cover on the tweeter's crossover and moving the jumper.

Of course you'd know that (and would have switched the jumper plug on the midrange since they're not in coaxial mode) if you followed all the instructions

Oh, and did you find a better place than I did for mounting the crossovers?

yeah, it was getting really late and had to work next morning so i didn't make any crossover adjustments yet. Your spot looks pretty good. I mounted mine on the actual metal of the door towords rear of door on both sides. just tried to use previous holes from the installers and ended up only using 2 screws for one set of xovers snapped together with the bridge in place.
