4080 Sedan Enclosure w/pics!

When I upgraded my sound system, I added a Sony Xplod sub with a 760 sony xplod amp...here it is...

After months of driving with it in my trunk, I've experienced a few issues. I felt that my car was WAY heavier in the back, the amp actually disconnected from my sub while driving once(wire just disconnected), and when I make turns the car will throw my sub around my trunk. So I got fed up and picked up a 4080 enclosure....

This really looks awesome, feels awesome, and saves a lot of space in the trunk. I was hesitant getting this but I was sick of the messy look in the back of my car so I said f*** it and bought it. Feel free to leave comments and hope you guys like it.

So that's the 12" sedan enclosure?

I didn't think their design would be so different -

Here's the 10" enclosure:

Yeah that is the 12 sedan enclosure, but I never thought that the 10 and 12 would be different but now after seeing yours, I guess the design makes a difference.

Much cleaner. It looks like it "belongs" there now.

Marketplace is the only place to really find a deal, but even at the $360 or so retail, they're fantastic.

They're fiberglass, so there's no need to worry about humidity causing them to rot or anything like wood boxes, and they're extremely solid too.

Highly recommended!

Oh, and so long as your office people at your apartment complex don't forget it's there when you ask for packages, they ship it out and get it to you fast too.

The retail price of the 4080 was pretty high for me, but luckily I found a member here who was selling a used one and I bought it off him for 250. The design of the box is really good, it makes your bass sound louder because its fiberglass. The hard wooden box I had before was not only heavy but very quiet when the music hit.

Not sure if it's the 4080 or just our trunk, but I can have it bumping very nicely in the car and not be able to hear it standing outside the car.

Again - awesome enclosure.

I ran across this thread since I was looking for more pics of the 4080, I just ordered the 12" one. The 12" 4080 design for the Sedan is not different from the 10" version, the shape looks identical to me. The OP is not running an authentic 4080 enclosure.

Wrathernaut (10" 4080)

Ttrank (12" 4080)

iTzTeddy (12" 4080 style enclosure)

Yup here's another thread where the OP says a 12" 4080 box was used and it looks similar to the 10"

I thought there was a minor change in design in the 4080s a while back. I know some of the early 10" weren't fully carpeted, perhaps the 12" was redesigned to match the 10" more closely?
