Factory Stock Alarm Being Unresponsive

so every once in a while when i try to disarm OR arm my car it won't do as I say I tried pressing many times but won't work sometimes. Resulting me manually locking or unlocking my car. I figured it must be the battery on the remote going bad so I replaced it. But after a while it would do the same thing and one time I think i armed it remotely and came back to the car and it won't respond. So I manually opened it but the alarm didn't even go off, so I am wondering. Is this my alarm going bad instead??

Bump from forever ago

I'm actually having the exact same issue on my mom's car. I've tried searching and it seems like this is the only post I can find about it. She has an 06 and it seems to allow you to start the car and recognize the key is in the car, but does not lock or unlock doors without raping the button a million times.
