Source just toggles through all the valid audio sources -> am, fm, sat, cd/dvd, iPod, SD card... whatever you have plugged in.

Since I always look at the headunit to see who's calling anyway, I figured I could push the on-screen answer prompt instead of dedicating a single button to it.

That and if you have voice command, it does pretty much every other function you want it to "Change source to FM", "Play artist The Hanslick Rebellion", "Call home" ... you get the idea.

Right now somebody's selling (or sold it already) a Pioneer X910BT in the FS section for dirt cheap. That'll get you voice control (not for nav though).

IMO it's a safety thing. I just slide my thumb over to adjust the volume without having to take my eyes off the road, versus taking them off to glance at the HU for the volume button. It's a matter between stopping in time and smashing into the car in front of you; the guy who rear ended me while reaching for his drink couple weeks ago can tell you that.

Probably one of those things where you don't realize how useful it was until you don't have it anymore.

It's a nice convenience for sure. But even more of a safety feature for me. I have the Alpine p1/w505 touchscreen DD. You HAVE to take your eyes off of the road and look at the damn thing to change the presets.

I only wish that when I pressed seek up or down of the steering wheel, it would cycle through presets, and not EVERY station ( sirius ).

Gave up the controls when I put my Z2 in. Never had the urge to have them back.
