How Useful is Steering Wheel Control?
Source just toggles through all the valid audio sources -> am, fm, sat, cd/dvd, iPod, SD card... whatever you have plugged in.
Since I always look at the headunit to see who's calling anyway, I figured I could push the on-screen answer prompt instead of dedicating a single button to it.
That and if you have voice command, it does pretty much every other function you want it to "Change source to FM", "Play artist The Hanslick Rebellion", "Call home" ... you get the idea.

IMO it's a safety thing. I just slide my thumb over to adjust the volume without having to take my eyes off the road, versus taking them off to glance at the HU for the volume button. It's a matter between stopping in time and smashing into the car in front of you; the guy who rear ended me while reaching for his drink couple weeks ago can tell you that.
It's a nice convenience for sure. But even more of a safety feature for me. I have the Alpine p1/w505 touchscreen DD. You HAVE to take your eyes off of the road and look at the damn thing to change the presets.
I only wish that when I pressed seek up or down of the steering wheel, it would cycle through presets, and not EVERY station ( sirius
).

gotta have the steering controls. never thought they were a big deal til my first car with them (the g). now i even don't change tracks on my mp3 player but cycle through fm radio tracks just to use the buttons.
that is certainly an awesome deal, only if the seller is not about 1000km from where i am...
