How Useful is Steering Wheel Control?

Like the topic suggests, I wonder if you guys often use steering wheel control to change volume or track.

I always use the buttons on steering wheel when i had my factory HU (when it worked properly), it became like a habit when i drive. But I wonder if steering wheel control will be "as useful" after i get an aftermarket DD HU. What you guys think? if not too much, especially with the presence of touchscreen and more convenient interface of the aftermarket HU, I would rather save the money to do sth else.

When I first bought the car, I thought the steering wheel controls were for lazy fvcks.

2 days later I found out I am a lazy fvck.

Use 'em every time I'm in the car.

I would spend the money on the module to keep the steering wheel controls if I had an aftermarket HU.

I love mine and would hate to lose them now. It would be worth it to me to get an adapter so it works with an aftermarket hu

When I bought items to install for my aftermarket DD, I skipped on the steering wheel control. Two hours after I got my DD installed, I hopped online and bought PAC-SWI steering wheel control.

I am more of a remote in my hand kinda guy....guess from competeing 12 years ago. But I have a feeling I am going to spend the little extra money and buy the PAC piece for the steering wheel.

LOL, good enuff that I can get 1tank of gas outta my steering wheel control.

Just j/king, it's just that audio shops charge sky-rocket high to program that, and I havn't yet figure out how to do it myself yet xD, wondering if there is a DIY out there specifically for programming pioneer steering wheel control.

Yes... it would be nice if somebody posted such a video to youtube

Since your radio doesn't have voice control, you'll probably want to map source to the mode button instead of skipping it.

Then just skip the rest until it's done.

Just wondering, what does the source button do anyway? I was thinking if i get blue tooth maybe map mode to answer call would be nice?
