while driving my 03 coupe yesterday, the illuminated icon lights for both the radio and ac stayed on but the orange/red lights that tells what's selected went out. the temp display cut on(the auto ac option cut on, fan went to level 5 and the ac was on full blast) and i couldn't control it. the radio display went out but i could still get music through sat and i could only control the volume with the steering wheel control.

when this happened the fan was off and i had music playing through my sat option.

i pulled over and cut the car off, but nothing changed.

pretty weird... any suggestions?

good thing it was hot yesterday... if it was winter i'd have been FREEZING

 

Common problem.
Search (or just looking at other posts on the front page here) will show you your solutions, but short answer:
You need a new radio, preferably aftermarket.

Punching the side of the unit may temporarily fix it, or your cable connecting the circuit board came loose. It's worth disassembling the face down and disconnecting and reconnecting the thin ribbon cable connecting the radio to the circuit board.

 

Same problem for the last 2 weeks..........Wrathernaut recommended me the same thing. Knows what hes talkin about. Im looking at new Head Unit. GL with yours.
