Hi all. I've recently installed an Alpine HU and the "$30 iPod connector". Everything works great except the fact that I couldn't get my iPod to work on the HU. It's a 5th gen ipod

nano. It just kept saying "Searching..." on the Alpine iPod interface. I also tried hook up to my friend's iPod to it, a 4th gen iPod mini I believed, it wouldn't read his as well but it did

show that it's connected and the battery was charging. However, on the manual from Alpine, it says it's compatible with 4th and 5th gen iPod Nano guaranteed. I also check the

software version, it's up to date. So WTF is wrong?! Excuse my language... Any input is appreciated...

 

Alpine's tech support would be the best answer to your problems here, especially not knowing what model unit you have or if the iPod connector is in quotes because it's a cheap $2 knockoff clone from eBay.

 

Which headunit are you using? What is the model # of the alpine cable? Is it authentic or was it bought on ebay?
