Will my g35 lose power with AMP and SUB

I was wondering if i installed a sub and amp in my g35 that i will lose power as far as performance. Im planning on putting a 10" polk audio sub and a alpine mono amp.

it can.

mine does.

if i turn the bass more than halfway the car will studder VERY hard. and if i turn the bass almost all the way up the car will actually shut off.

but that can be fixed with upgrading electrical components

capacitor is a bandaid. not a real fix.

im talking about bigger wiring, better battery, high output alternator

oh no im definatly not saying that. sorry i wrote that in a misleading way.

it really all depends. my car is an 04 with 70k. the alt is going to get weaker and die at some point. and so is the battery. and that might be coming soon. so that can be the issue.

i would just install the stuff you have. and if it does hicup or anything. and you want to take the cheap way out. jsut get the capacitor. no one is going to look down on you for it. i was just stating that its mearly just a band aid way to fix it

i dont know if its just the way that i hooked mine up. (im still using a factory head unit) but even if my stereo is off. my amp is on. you can get a swtich to turn it off though.

as for the racing part. if its all off. the only thing the system is going to do is make the car weigh more which means go slower.

I have an Optima Red battery. When I dropped off my car at a stereo shop to get my amp and subs installed, they said installing a capacitor would be a waste because of the Optima battery. But then again, I only have a 1000w amp and 2 10s.

I dont know what you are running but im running a nine.1 and a rockford p3002. ~1700wats rms daily

170amps total at max capacity.

I get no shutter and i turn my set up pretty loud on the highway.

never had the car shut off either.....

the volatge drops from 14.5 to the mid 12s but never turned off....never had any car do that, even with 3000rms

no real issues to speak of here, just volatge drop

I have been running this set up for almost 2 years

I am with you on this one, running about 1500watts RMS daily with none of those issues either. Headlights don't even dim or flicker at night with it up loud. Although the setup initially killed my stock battery and then took out my alt but the issue didn't present itself until those components died. Been a year and some change since install with daily abuse and not a problem.

if you are putting in a simple 10" sub with say a 500 watt amp you wont even notice a change in your electrical

You will be slower, not because of the additional voltage drops, but because of weight, but nothing noticeable.
